SUPPORT OUR BC WINERIES

In the aftermath of the 2022 deep freeze, one of the coldest winters on record that deeply impacted BC's renowned wine region, we're rallying behind our local wineries. It's not just about savoring flavors; it's about standing in solidarity with the resilient winemakers of the struggling Okanagan Valley. Every sip and every bite contributes to the restoration and revival of BC's wine community. Let's raise our glasses to support, resilience, and the unbeatable taste of BC's finest.

The deep freeze of 2022 had a significant impact on Okanagan wine producers, causing widespread damage to vineyards and severely affecting the industry. The extreme cold temperatures, particularly in December, led to extensive vine damage, with many producers reporting that some of their vines were either severely harmed or killed, especially in lower-lying areas where cold air tends to settle. It was calculated that wine production in 2023 was reduced by 54% due to the freeze, compounded by additional cold spells in early 2023. This disruption in the growth cycle of the vines is expected to have lasting effects, making it a particularly challenging period for the region's winemakers.
